7 Impossible Things and Website Update

I'm delighted to say I was featured on 7 Impossible Things, a terrific Children's Book Blog written by editor/author Julie Danielson. In addition, I just updated my website.

Lastly, the Let's Go, Hugo! Website is live. I'll be updating it frequently with pictures and book events.

Sandy and Sketches

Well, I had to delay my trip to NY due to a certain storm named Sandy. I'll be heading out there in December instead. I can't wait!

Hello Santiago

I'll be posting the finals soon, but here is a revised final sketch for my book Santiago Stays (Appleseed 2013). It's keeping me busy in between teaching. In addition, I'm on the committee for the Sixth Annual SCBWI SF Illustrator Day on September 29th, 2012. Should be a great event and it's not too late too register!

Sneak Peek 2013 Calendars

I'm finalizing the layouts and getting ready to print my 2013 Calendars. One is a Hugo Calendar and the other consists of San Francisco Sketches. Both are mostly for self promotion,  but I'll be selling a limited amount at APE and on Etsy later this year.

In other news, I'm on the final sketching stages of Santiago Stays (Appleseed Fall 2013). Can't wait to get started on the final artwork for Santiago.

Hello Summer!

It's beautiful this time of year in San Francisco. Here's a sketch of Maiden Lane near Union Square.

In a related note, I'll be selling a self published book of my sketchbook drawings at the Cartoon Art Museum 655 Mission St and AAU Illustration Building: 540 Powell St. More locations coming soon.

Lastly, I'm officially registered for APE (October 1 and 2). So far I'll be sharing a table with the talented Eli Harris and Sara Palacios.

Sketch Crawl

I was able to participate for the first time in Sketch Crawl. It was awesome to see so many artists (both students and professionals) sketching. Luckily it was a gorgeous day in San Francisco. Here are a few sketches. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Puerto Rico

I was lucky enough to go to Puerto Rico for a small break. I lounged, sketched, and admired the Puerto Rican culture. Now it's time to get back to work.

New York Sketches

I wish I could have sketched more, but here are a few sketches from my recent NY trip. I met some wonderful people, saw beautiful artwork, went to Books of Wonder like ten times, and saw good friends. Fingers crossed on some upcoming projects.
