Today's the last day of the traditional illustration technique class at California State University. All semester I've been impressed with the quality of the student's work, and charmed by their motivation to learn. While I wish I could share all of the final projects, here are two outstanding examples from my students (Elan Mertens and Audrey Gerodias). For their final, the students had to write a paper and illustrate a cultural event poster of their choice. Both used acrylic and gouache (although they could have selected any medium I taught them) and both also hand lettered the text. They are rockstars!
